running at almost 4 knots and, when combined with the wind, our passage downstream was brisk. Turned. Headed upstream and beat over and back across the wind. Hard work and made almost no progress againct the current. Very little control so added the motor as a back-up plan. Now making about 2 knots but the boat was ferry-gliding rapidly over and back across the river as the sail angle presented one side of the hull to the current. Still very little control in the high winds and fast moving currents. A little worried that we could have a real situation if our engine failed, so called it a day and headed back to the safety of our berth!Passage: Waterford to Waterford.

ReplyDeleteHanibal......I've been to a few of your dinner parties and I think that you are overpricing your cooking skills at 5 yen per hour ! And as for my wives.....all eight of them say that you have flatulance issues and so will have to sleep above deck. But if you are OK with that you have the job!
