Doing some work in Waterford Airport in early December so stayed over on Neidin for the night. Woke up next morning to find everything magically covered in snow! Beautiful! And yet, despite the Arctic conditions outside, it was still snug and warm down in Neidin's cabin. The heating system was more than managing to match the heat loss through the hull and I was most comfortable indeed. Breakfast and phone calls home, and then time to get on the road back to Dublin.and what a journey! Really deep snow from New Ross up to Enniscorthy made progress very slow, but I tucked in behind a snow plough (yes a snow plough in Ireland) in Enniscorthy and it brought me all the way to the motorway where conditions were a little more manageable. Had to abandon my car in Kilmacanogue village, though, and walk the last part of the journey up the mountain to our house on foot.Wednesday, 6 April 2011

What a winter! Never saw anything like it. Almost a full month of snow! Great!

For the next four weeks transport in our household was as much by way of toboggan as it was by way of car and journeys down to EICMR and Neidin were just not possible!
