The plan was to depart EIWF at 9.30am on the outgoing tide but, as it happened, Neill had to drag me out of Cafe Lucia where I was enjoying a big Irish breakfast. After all it might be the last real food of the day!! Lots of wind, so sailed out of town and on out into the Atlantic.
Passed Passage and onto Duncannon Fort where we established a close reach which brought us out past Credan Head and onwards to Dunmore East. Beautiful sailing and beautiful weather!
Still no other boats to be seen. Rumour has it that they will appear in numbers after May 1st when their insurance policies allow them moor off Dunmore. Seems such a shame to miss six weeks of sailing in great winds!
Passage: Waterford to Dunmore East.
Date: Saturday 9th April 2011.
Crew: Neill Mc Grory. Kevin Nolan. Ferghal Dowling. Fia.
Duration: 2.5 hours.
